Following a positive public consultation process last month (link to previous post) Hetreed Ross Architects have submitted a planning application this week for the proposed new café at Bath City Farm.

The design proposal uses traditional materials in a contemporary way to both enhance the function and setting of Bath City Farm as well as provide two terraces in sunny locations with long distance views.  The café will be staffed by volunteers and employees, with some food grown at the farm.

Natural materials will be sourced locally where possible, with the sustainable ethos further extending to the roof which will have an intensive green roof to enhance the ecological value and minimise rainwater runoff.
