“…Hetreed Ross were invaluable in the whole process – we knew the basic idea of what we wanted but they were great for bouncing ideas off and helping with details we were unsure of. They helped to confirm our ideas and tweak them to be even better. When our Pre-App came back saying we could not do what we wanted, they suggested that a consultant carried out a Heritage Assessment on the house. We then submitted our full plans and we got the Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent to do what we wanted. Had we not done this we almost certainly would not have got the permission. They were also very helpful during our 7 month build. Even though Hetreed Ross did not manage the build, they were very happy to answer any questions from me or our builder.”

“At the end of the day you can’t undo it once it’s built and endless trouble was taken to meet our needs and peculiarities. We are now reaping the benefit of the trouble taken and adaptability shown in the early stages. We found our architects to be skilled at getting on the right side of the planners. Indeed comprehensive research in this direction beforehand had led us to HRA in the first place.
…The builders clearly respected the architects and this gave us confidence that the work would be properly done. None of this came cheap but pricing was fair and indeed our architectural fees were rather beneath what we expected for the time and level of service offered. I need hardly conclude by saying we would use the same architects again and indeed have already recommended them to others whenever the occasion has arisen.”
