Associate & Passivhaus Designer

Amanda joined Hetreed Ross in 2009 and became an Associate in 2020. Passionate about contemporary and sustainable architecture, she has worked on a variety of bespoke residential, charitable and commercial projects focusing on construction to Passivhaus standards. She is a trained Passivhaus Designer and has a long track record of obtaining planning approvals on challenging sites and working on a number of award winning projects.

A skilled designer, her inspiration comes from people, context and environment with an aim to create simple, functional, sustainable and, above all, beautiful solutions.

Amanda graduated from Brighton Polytechnic with a 1st and winning the national RIBA part 1 prize, she completed her training at The Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, qualifying as an architect in 1990. She worked in London for 11 years  where she was an associate at Avery Associates Architects working on a number of major award winning projects including a new drama school for The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
